Feline Care & Wellness

Cat Clinic Greensboro, NC
The fact that you are on this page tells us how very important your feline friend’s good health is to you.

It has always been our philosophy at the Cat Clinic that a Wellness Visit should include far more than updating vaccinations. We look upon this time as a chance to evaluate your cat’s overall health and physical condition. It is also the time in which the doctor can make recommendations regarding your cat’s continued health care.
Every Wellness Visit includes the following:

  • A complete physical exam, including a dental exam.
  • All vaccines. Your cat may require the following vaccines, depending on age and lifestyle: Distemper/URI Virus Vaccine, Rabies Virus Vaccine and Feline Leukemia Virus Vaccine.
  • An evaluation of your cat’s general health and possible recommendations for laboratory screening to detect common     underlying conditions such as kidney or liver abnormalities, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and urinary disease. If detected in the early stages, most of these conditions can be cured or effectively managed.
  • An evaluation of your cat’s weight and diet.
  • A determination of the most appropriate flea and intestinal parasite control.
  • An evaluation of your cat’s risk of heartworm disease and the most appropriate prevention method.
  • A determination of your cat’s exposure risk for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus infection.

Total Wellness Plan

We take very seriously the fact that you have chosen us and want to do our utmost to provide the best advice and healthcare for your cat. We feel an obligation to advise you, our client, as to what constitutes an optimum preventative health management program.

We have developed such a program. Our Total Wellness Plan is based on recommendations from both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

When your cat is enrolled in the Total Wellness Plan, he or she will, first of all, receive the same services provided in the Wellness Visit. In addition, we will draw a small amount of blood to do an appropriate laboratory health screen, dependent on your cat's age. This screen is designed to establish normal values for your cat at every age as well as detect abnormalities in the blood that could indicate an early health problem.

By choosing the Total Wellness Plan, you are not only receiving the best preventative health care for your friend, you are saving money in the process. You will receive a 10% discount on all in-house professional services for the entire plan year, as well as on heartworm and flea preventative care.

Approximately 11-20% of cats test positive for Heartworm Disease in North Carolina. Therefore, we feel very strongly that all cats in our area should be on year-round heartworm protection.
